Multi-order picking, also known as batch picking or serial picking, is a structure for creating a picking order. The more individual orders can be combined, the more time and distance can be saved - the picking performance increases. After picking, the items are assigned to the respective individual order.

Goal: Minimize distance

The main goal of multi-order picking is to reduce the number of pickers walking. All items for selected orders are picked on a single route or the total quantity of a selected SKU is picked for several orders at the same time - this is called batch picking.

Advantages of Multi-Order Picking

  • The throughput rate increases
  • Resources such as time, travel and money are saved
  • More efficient work in the company
